- Wink murderer
- Charades
- Alphabet minute – choose a noun. Two people have to keep a conversation about that word for 1 minute, the first word has to begin with the first letter of the noun.
- Number beep – people in circle count up to 100. If multiples of 3 say fizz, if mutiples of 7 say buzz, if both, say fizz buzz. Whoever accidentally says wrong number is out. Continue until there is one person standing.
- In the market – in circle, first person names something they bought at the market, second person repeats that and names something else. Continue with everyone repeating prior items.
- Knots – even numbers of people make a circle. Everyone holds out left hand and grab somebody else’s, then repeat for right hand. Aim is to unravel back into circle without letting go of hands.
- Try it without talking.
- Look up, look down. Teacher calls up look up or down and children follow instructions. Whenever children look up, they must look at someone else. If the other person is looking back at them, they sit out. Continue until only two people standing.
- Dominoes effect - two lines of children holding hands in their line. Everyone in the line must look towards the end of the line except for the front two people. The teacher flips a coin at front, when the two front children see it is heads, they squeeze the next person's hand in the line and this keeps going until the last person who calls out ' bingo'. Must be silent in the game otherwise.
- Silent ball- pass the ball to each other in silence. Bad throw means the thrower sits out. Bad catch means the catcher sits out. See who is last standing. Variations include standing on chairs, one foot, one hand, left hand, one eye, catching with cupped elbows etc.
- 21 - in a circle, children must display either 1, 2 or 3 fingers when it is their turn. Counting up, whoever gets 21 must sit down. Can do this with teams, different numbers.
- Two lines make 2 different teams. Each team must hold hands in their line and look towards the end except for the person at the front who watches the teacher. The teacher flicks a coin, if it is heads, the front people in the lines squeeze the next person's hand and so on, like a Mexican wave, until the last person feels it and yells Bingo.
Outdoors:
- Musical chairs
- Statues - aim of the game is to grab the 'prize' by the 'tagger' who stands at front, facing away from everyone else. Everyone else must advance towards the 'prize'. When the tagger turns around, they must be still like statues, if they are caught moving, they must start from the beginning point again.
- Octopus
- What’s the time Mr. Wolf
- Chain tag – whoever gets tagged by tagger must tag onto tagger
- Pair tag - whoever gets tagged by tagger must tag onto tagger until there are four people in the chain of taggers. They four splits up into two pairs of two who must each be joined to tag others.
- Crusts and crumbs: Two teams line up to face each other about a metre apart at the centre line, with one team as crusts the other as crumbs When both teams are ready the caller shouts crusts or crumbs – whichever team is called must chase the other team who must run to their safe boundary line. Any player who is tagged switches to the opposing side until one team has caught all the members of the team.
- Cat and mouse – cat chases mouse. Everyone else in circle, joining hands. Cat and mouse can run inside or outside of circle, running through circle only if they choose to lift their hands to make a door.
- Capture the flag
- Rob the nest
- Dodgeball
- Bridge - like dodgeball but one team is in the middle while other team spreads across both lengths of the team. The outside team must pass the ball to the other side each time, trying to hit the people in the middle out. If they middle team gets hit, they must line up on the side, waiting for their chance to get back into the middle. They can get back in if someone on their team catches the ball on the full. If the outside team catches the ball on the full throw, the middle team must freeze until the ball is thrown again.
- Hit ball - On a square court, place a large ball in the middle, four teams on all sides of the court hit the large ball tennis balls, trying to get the ball to pass the square line on someone else's side and stop it from passing their own line. Team with least points wins. Can also be done with rectangular court with just two teams.
